I wondered when I read about a year ago that Luminant and Mitsubishi were going into a *joint venture* together to build the untested nuclear power plant additions, if approved, for Comanche Peak in Glen Rose. One main reason is that foreign companies simply cannot own United States utility companies but being able to get around it with a *joint venture* is a popular way to allow foreign funds. The next question that logically gets raised is, if there are US taxpayer subsides and loan guarantees that are being given to these nuclear power plant companies, how much of that is going to the foreign companies and/or the people who work in jobs outside this country?
