I'm glad she's not going to be on the SBOE since she is obviously one of the most anti-science and reactionary members (perhaps she was miffed that she didn't get the top honcho job!) . But I was kind of hornswaggled by this comment from the DMN.
Republican Cynthia Dunbar of Richmond, one of the most outspoken social conservatives on the State Board of Education, has decided not to seek another term next year. Other members of the board confirmed Wednesday that her current employment with a law school in Virginia has made it difficult for her to remain on the board and she has decided against a re-election bid.
Right. Is this pretty common to have people on a TEXAS agency board that WORK in some other state? It shouldn't be that it's *difficult* for her to be on the school board, it ought to be that she CAN'T because she WORKS IN VIRGINIA.
Here are some *greatest hits* of Dunbar.
Almost -Top -Perry, due to his extreme lack of judgement, almost made her the chairman to replace nutball Don whosits.
Despite the fact that the Ector school district was SUED over a certain Bible curriculum, she recommended it anyway. Guess she doesn't really care about spending taxpayer money on frivolous pursuits.
Did she, one of the people on the board over PUBLIC schools, have HER kids in public schools? Nope. She home schools.
