Which is the local Glen Rose news paper I subscribe to, and which is VERY good.

Walter Maynard is going to go for re-election for county judge. That makes about 4 people I've heard about that are running or are said to be planning to run. City of Glen Rose Pam Miller was also passing a petition at the Democrat's meeting on Halloween night, and is running as a Democrat. (As is Maynard). Have also heard rumors about 2 more on the Republican side but haven't heard that these people have officially said they're running.

Interesting article about the City of Glen Rose meeting from this week. I wasn't able to go because I had way too much to do, so it's great to read the rundown, I'm paraphrasing what I'm reading. One of the actions the City took was to approve a position for city manager. Mayor Pam Miller has consistently been against that position. She said that somebody had suggested that maybe instead there ought to be a community development director, but this was spoken against by Ricky Villa. Couple of other things -412,741.75 was paid out to the 4b for the Riverwalk. Also, Freedom Church was placed inside the extraterritorial jurisdiction of the city-what does that mean? Is that one of those You Can't Annex Me Granbury Because I Will Choose to be annexed by Somervell County if it comes to that deals? And Diane Gruber is a new board member on the county appraisal district.

For those who are Christians in the town and don't celebrate, say, Hanukkah, there's a "Jesus is the Reason for the Season" parade downtown. I don't know why Glen Rose doesn't have an inclusive holiday celebration for everybody.

Sid Miller (TX House Representative District 59) got a grant for the Barnard Mill and Art Museum to the tune of $30,000 from the Texas Preservation Trust Fund. I remember at a previous city meeting that Barnards Mill asked for 4b money and was told that they didn't fit the criteria. Good to know there are other ways to fund some worthy projects.
