I didn't ride in this year's ride, but did help out right by making sure the riders knew where to turn at a certain corner. My video camera pooped out, I think maybe it's time to replace the battery, but I did get some iphone pics. Here's the photostream.
Lining up at the Glen Rose High School.

So, these start from the YOU MADE IT end of the Wall. Looks pretty flat, here, eh?

Notice the beautiful vista unfolding behind the riders

Here's a couple of bikers. the road starts to dip down where you see the metal guard fence.

Look at that! Isn't it gorgeous? That bicylist in front was going back and forth in a sideways motion to make it up the hill. I suspect quite a few riders did that, but again, this was the tail end. The Texas Heat motorcycle club was out in force helping out with SAG duties.

Turning the corner some more to see yet MORE of the steep climb, and the winding road

End of the turn, but the road continues to be at a steep incline

And here shows the ascent.

And here's some cyclists AFTER going up the Wall at the rest stop.

Now, not that there aren't MANY hills, and I have to think that going DOWN these hills, any of them, after climbing up, has got to be one of the best thrills ever. I saw some cyclists doing that on the road that goes to Rough Creek and I vicariously enjoyed that with them.
Putting in a few pics from where I was sitting, which are another beautiful vista. I was perched by the road at the corner of 2008 and 2009 and some of the riders, amusingly, would ask as they went by "Is this the Wall?". Nope. But that road is a wonderful climbing challenge nonetheless.

It was about a mile from where I was to the rest stop up at the Overlook at Fossil Rim. You can see the bicyclist as dots on that long road.

The Overlook can't be seen in this view-you go up the hill and snake around that big hill and at one of the next turns, on the right, is the Overlook.
Some Texas Heat motorcyclists, from Glen Rose, came by and I took their pic
