The new reporter, Erin Cooper, is very good at writing feature stories. She has coverage of the family of Casey Tiner's fight for justice. There's also a good article about Ryan Darby, with a pic.

I notice that Somervell County Water district is planning to raise the tax rate again. Ther'es going to be a hearing at the Somervell County Wter District Office at 2099 CR 301 on Sep 14, 2009 at 7:00 pm. Right now it looks like the whole board is for it.

The letters to the editor are interesting. Kevin Taylor apparently took umbrage at what Charley Thomas wrote in last week's Reporter about the indebtedness of Somervell County residents with regard to the Water District and has a lenghty letter describing the indebtedness. Joelle Ogletree also wrote a letter to the editor regarding GRISD's decision to have the teachers delete email in discovery procedures.

GRISD actually LOWERED its tax rate for hnext year.
