at some point in the future. I had a conversation earlier today with Wayne Rotan, superintendent of GRISD, and he mentioned that they plan to put the videos up. Of course, they would have to prepare the video first to blur out students faces to comply with FERPA laws. I told him I am utterly delighted and I am. What that will mean is that anyone who missed a school board meeting will have the opportunity, after the fact, to view what is going on.
We are such proponents here of open records and public meetings and any and all steps that local government does to ensure easy access for the public to meetings is greatly appreciated. Plus, in the case of GRISD, it takes advantage of the advanced technology that we are so lucky as a district to have.
P.S. He also mentioned that GRISD will be putting its check register online after the next fiscal year starts (Sep-Oct) and the board meeting notices now include the agenda packet.
One more time, thank you!
