Cintra Strikes Again.

Cintra, a Spanish toll road operator will fund, build and run the new toll road. Cintra’s contract on the road is for the next 50 years, allowing the company to make money off its investment.

I see the city leaders and chamber of Seguin are excited about this.

So I do wonder. Has the Trans Texas Corridor merely changed names to being now the Central Texas Turnpike System?????

The initial 49-mile toll road will run from I-35 north of Georgetown to U.S. 183 south of Austin. The $1.5 billion project is the first in Texas to use innovative new financing tools, including the selling of bonds and a comprehensive development agreement, to speed construction.

Other components of the first phase of the Central Texas Turnpike System that will be financed from the sale of $2.2 billion in bonds last year, are:
