Secretary Vilsack opened by explaining that he was getting pressure from Congress, which is considering, apparently, cutting off the funding for NAIS unless the livestock industry works out a consensus to have better voluntary participation. I probably was not the only one in the room wondering: “And this is a bad thing?”
I believe it would be instructive to see who's contributing to Vilsack and whether any of them are RFID companies, like Digital Angel. He sure seems in an allfired hurry to push NAIS, eh?
P.S. This continues to make me believe that the "Listening Tour" is a propaganda meeting to try to get buy in for NAIS, not truly to get rid of it. Everybody who is against NAIS needs to make sure and show up when it comes to your city.
