the one I subscribe to.
Giant robotic dinosaurs manufacturing to come to Glen Rose? The County Commissioners apparently decided, yes, in closed executive session last week. The company that makes them is Billings Production. They're located in McKinney currently. (Take a look on that website under Clients, then Showreels-very impressive.) Here's a nice article from the DMN in 2007 about the company, which Sandra Billings and her son Trey run. I wonder why they decided to move from McKinney to Glen Rose (besides the obvious dinosaur connection). One wonders what rental property costs up in McKinney now versus, say, Somervell County (or puchasing land, for that matter).
City of Glen Rose Mayor Pam Miller read a letter to the commissioners. I'll put up audio from that meeting later on in a different post.
The Junior High School is going to have a Mystery Dinner Theatre on May 2 2009, tickets $8. Pretty cute. It's not clear to me if you have to get tickets in advance.
Heh! EVERYBODY WANTS TO GET INTO THE 4B ACT!!! There was a letter to the editor from Eugene Brode in which he said he wants to put a water park, not on Larry Smith's property but on Carlie English's at Hwy 67 and Barnard St on the east side. For me, it isn't that I don't want to see somebody's property put to good use, and obviously somebody is thinking of what might go on that corner, but I don't see a need to build a new water park on taxpayer money. If Carlie English wants to put in a water park there because it's a good idea, then pony up the money sans taxes!
