The Soap Opera that is the Selling of Meridian Manor in Bosque County

You can look at the tags on the end of this for other posts we've done re: Meridiian Manor, too many to collect here. But if you've been following...

When we last left Meridian Manor, Rose Beck had not come up with the money to purchase it (this was after the Somervell County Hospital Board referendum didn't pass, but I'm sure that was entirely coincidental.) She asked another guy, who is said to be one of her clients, to take over the agreement, and he, Steven Lange, said he would. There also, at last blush, popped up yet another possible buyer of Meridian Manor but from another state. Looks like all would be well, right?

Nope. I got my copy of the Bosque County News today (April 8 2009) and apparently the two nursing homes that Steven Lange is affiliated with, which are in Abilene and Athens ARE IN BANKRUPTCY AUCTION. He didn't own them, Conifer Care did, and apparently through the bankruptcy sale, THEY got a new owner, who's from Austin, and he wants to run it himself and to have Lange cease his month-to-month lease and operation.

The deadline set by the board for Lange to buy it was April 9th, which has passed but I don't know the answer of whether he actually did. I'd like to say this is entertaining but I feel for the people in the nursing home who have been living on tenterhooks waiting to see what the disposition of the whole thing is!
