I agree! Why shouldn't I, a working taxpayer have the same benefit as those on Medicaid or Medicare? The problem is, the corporate insurance industry is like a pit-bull and will viciously fight any attempt to de-throne them.

While there still are many problems inherent in the Medicare system, most of the problems stem from issues perpetrated by private health care providers, e.g., the Medicare "donut" whereby the program will only cover up to a certain amount per participant and then creates an out-of-pocket expense, a list of medications covered that gets smaller every year, many doctors are permitted NOT to accept new Medicare patients, etc., etc....

I'm afraid it's also our legislators who permit the health care providers and pharmaceuticals to "buy them off" and thus, work for these industries instead of the majority of Americans who need health care and Rx medication.
