Why?????? from the Stephenville Empire-Tribune. “I’m in favor of anybody who goes through CHL (training) to be able to carry guns on public property,” Miller said... the bill was inspired in part by the tragic events at Virginia Tech University and Northern Illinois University. He is hoping that would-be shooters might be deterred if they knew classmates might shoot back.
I'm not against guns. We have 'em. But I can see no reason to let students pack heat at college. Who's nutty idea WAS this?

So your group, which is apparently led by you, is behind the push to get Texas Legislators to pass this nutty bill.I see that you and others who are pro-concealed handguns in all types of venues spent a lot of time lobbying the legislators One of the other regular posters on your shooting forum that is also out to lobby the legislators, Charles L Cotton, is a member of the NRA Board of Directors, from Friendswood, Senator Wentworth, who filed the Senate side bill, has taken campaign contributions from the NRA PAC. No idea if you're a member of the NRA or whether you also get support from same, but although you may be for concealed weapons on campus and have actually formed a pro group, I daresay there are a lot of people who are not for it. And if you're reading this, and you're against it, you need to speak up to YOUR Texas legislators-because you can see that there has been quite the lobbying effort for packing guns on college campuses.
