I went to the City of Glen Rose meeting last night and caught the very tail end of the Somervell County Democrats meeting held at the Citizens Center. Besides all the friends (some who are also candidates) that were there, I met Baltasar Cruz, who is running for Texas Supreme Court Place 7. I was very impressed with him and asked him to say a few words for the camera.

Here is his website. He has an entry comparing his stances with Sam Houston, who is also running. I always wonder when people run with a well-known name, not related to the people whose names they carry. For example, you know how Gene Kelly goes on the ballot almost every time and almost every time some people ACTUALLY vote for him. They cannot possibly think it's the tap-dancing Gene Kelly, who is .... dead. So one also hopes that any decision to vote for or against Cruz will not be made because some like the Texas name Sam Houston.

Incidentally, on Cruz's website, he has some newspaper articles from opinions he's held in the past. One of them, strikingly, is a position on the US invastion of Iraq, AS WRITTEN on Feb 16, 2003; that's before the Bush administration invaded Iraq.
