The senate, in their normal short-sided view, tonight voted to give away $700 Billion of our tax dollars. George W. Bush would get $100 billion for discretionary spending. Half the money would not have oversight because the other $250 billion that would be handed out immediately would have to be overseen later (if ever because we know how the senate's oversight meetings are...a side show). The other $350 Billion would be doled out to by the smart folks who passed this legislation to start with...again with their lame oversight.
They could not even wait for the vote before patting themselves on the back for doing such a great job in a 'bipartisan manner'. Republicans and Democrats talking about how this 'had to be done' or credit markets would crumble. I personally would rather have them crumble other than the alternative to keep giving out bad loans and expecting someone else to pay for it, what a concept eh? So I say in a bipartisan way with Democrats and Republicans that I know...FU Senate for selling us out and bailing out those who made bad decisions about risk instead of making them lie in the bed they made.
P.S. The little 'extras' should have been seperate legislation and passed on their own merits with an up or down vote instead of being riders to the bill.

We've been taken to the cleaners again! Our tax money continues to be taken up to the top of the mountain and given to the fat cats.
