Sarah Palin: America's Lack of Attention Span

The American people must have forgotten what the 2008 election is about.

It is NOT about building Sarah Palin's image in the eyes of the voters.  She is a self-centered narcissist just like the rest of the politicians.

The number 1 issue is the American economy!  What is McCain and Palin going to do about it?  What will Obama and Biden do?

The number 2 issue is Iraq and the Middle East!

Let the politicians and the media focus on those 2 issues and NOT what Palin eats for breakfast or what her pregnant daughter is going to do with her life.

It's so easy to divert the focus of American voters.  How did we get to be so stupid?

Except, Peter, you have no idea how deeply insulted women in general are that McCain chose someone like this to be his VP. I read a few minutes ago one woman's opinion that it was like the President's Prom Date. You know I don't like Hillary Clinton and didn't think she should be president, but omigosh. She had WORLDS of experience and stature compared to this fruit loop who has ethics issues and doesn't seem to have a problem with lying to everyone's face. If, here, I have spent a lot of time, and I know I have, talking about Sarah Palin, it's also because her personal life and beliefs are intertwined with her policy.. and both seem to be quite flawed.

McCain's spokeman himself said that this campaign is not going to be about issues. IF, then, it's about personality, then yeah, the personalities need to be examined.

But I do.  Thinking women are and should be upset by McCain's decision.

Also I am concerned that most Independents are for McCain and that among college grads they are about equal between the 2.

That's pretty scary.

I disagree with you in giving McCain the power over what the American voters will look at.  It is NOT about personalities unless the people buy into it, which unfortunately you and others are.

We need to get away from that Palin "experience" and deal more with the issues.  That would result in eliminating Palin from consideration more that her personal background.

We need to force Americans to view the issues and NOT personalities.

No, I don't think McCain has or should have that power. I was commenting on McCain only to point out what a ridiculously little man he has become.

I agree Palin definitely doesn't have the experience and find it interesting that McCain has now completely demolished that argument as to fitness for office. But her personal background matters as well, as it does in any person, male or female, where personal viewpoints dictate policy. It matters that she cut teen pregnancy funding and is for abstinence only sex ed, when her own daughter is an example of it not working. That's a debate worth having and it IS based on her experience as distilled through public policy. Her attempts to thwart an ethics investigation into how she personally handled a family matter is also open to discussion. Her relationship with God is also not a personal matter but apparently colors how she views her duties. Those are all personal and yes, I think they're fair game.

Now, how much attention to this Poser whom McCain is thrusting on women, thinking that women in general are stupid enough to accept her even though she is clearly not even as experienced as Bush the Lesser? I believe it's up to Obama to change the message, not to those who want to exercise freedom of speech and talk about her.

I also believe it is hillarious for Palin and her supporters to highlight her foreign policy experience by pointing to Alaska's proximity to Russia!  She was quoted stating that they can see Russia from Alaska --- that is, from one of Alaska's islands.

She is so nowhere.

But at the same time, experience isn't everything it's cracked-up to be.

None of the 4 candidates have any real executive experience.

It will be interesting to see how it all turns out.
