Trouble in Paradise: Democrats having a hard time 'getting it together'

This seems to be an ongoing issue for the Democratic Party for at least the past decade.

Currently the party is trying to "get the wrinkles out" of the Obama/Clinton unrest.  Can 2 egos come to terms that are amicable to each?

One of the big issues is how Clinton can get out of her personal debt of more than $12 MILLION dollars.

It will be interesting to hear why the Clintons think the Democratic Party should relieve them of Hillary's personal campaign debt --- although this part most likely will NOT come to surface.

The New York Times has an article about the party and the Obama/Clinton "see-saw".  At this point in time, it can't be a good thing for the party that its members still are NOT unified behind a party ticket and that it first has to stand idly by as two of its prime candidates are meeting to barter at "peace talks".

You have to give Hillary Clinton credit for getting out of personal debt by dumping it on the party and not entering a personal bankruptcy.  But does it show the sign of a "true leader"?  Has to be a close 2nd to Lee Iacocca's successful efforts in acquiring the government "bail-out" loan to Chrysler.

The Democratic Party just seems to get into more of a hole and rut as it rambles on down the road without any sign of a significant map.

Heck, even John McCain helped Rudy the 9/11 retire his campaign debt, in the same way, by asking donors to contribute. The only difference is the size of the debt Clinton incurred. I believe that when a candidate realizes that he or she is losing but decides to press on and rack up the bills, then that is THAT person's responsibility and no one elses. You simply can't make this a Democratic *hole* issue, though, Peter, unless you're prepared to make the same complaint against the Republicans as well-otherwise, although the degree of indebtedness is much more for Clinton, it smacks McCain with the same club.

I do think it's a little smarmy in both cases to so clearly see the quid pro quo of campaign time for debt retirement.

Just because I am focusing on Obama and Clinton this time does not make it ONLY a Democrat issue.  I'm just reporting the facts and commenting on what is occurring now.

So, many people are "sensitive" when an issue is being viewed and commented on.  People need to get away from Democrat vs. Republican, but I guess that is asking too much from most people.

I didn't even focus on what a "horse's butt" Bill Clinton is being during all this.

You should already know that I'm the last one you have to accuse of being "partisan".

Didn't call you partisan, I'd like to see us go back to Thomas Jefferon's dislike of political parties, and of course only having 2 viable choices from a practical standpoint leads us to the debacle that is now. I also am commenting that John McCain has done the very same thing and I'm not asking YOU to have to cover every single angle, just making my point as well.

Okay.  I'm afraid we're stuck with 2-party shuffle for a long time to come.
