I was curious about a few things re: GRISD, which are, of course, open records. First, I wondered what the credit cards used for the district are and who uses them. Second, where the money goes, ie, through a check registry of sorts to vendors. And third what the per diem is for school board travel.

Got back a reply in May but I was busy and then my computer went south for a bit, just getting back to looking at it. I am posting this information right now and not only plan to comment on interesting things I see in it, but I welcome your comments, too.

First, here is the file for district credit cards, in PDF format. If slow to open, right click on the file and download to your hard drive to look at.

Second, the General Operating file from 1/1/07 through about April 30, 2008. (If your connection is slow, right click and download to your drive to view)

And third, the 7/08 contruction file. again, in PDF format.

Incidentally, the per diem for board travel, per Judy Shipman, is

The per diem for board travel is the same as our employees.  The per diem rate is $36; $9 - breakfast, $12- lunch, $15-dinner.  The mileage rate approved by our board is 48.5 cents per mile.

P.S. I realize in looking at 2 of the files that they don't include the account code to which the payment was affixed (ie, was it general funds, federal funds, state funds, etc) . I have done a new open records request asking for that information.
