I had heard this was coming and was pretty excited because I like to read news online as well as in paper (I've said before I have a subscription to the Glen Rose Reporter newspaper). Got to wondering after reading this week's issue if the new website was up yet, asked Kurt Mogonye... and HERE IT IS! - http://www.theglenrosereporter.com/

Looks really terrific! Nice photo slide show on the front, plus once you register as a user, you can read the articles.

When Comanche Peak took a one-time depreciation from 7 billion dollars to 1.7 billion dollars, our property taxes took a huge leap, about 85% in my case.

When Energy Future Holdings purchased the former TXU Corp, what was the capitalized value of Comanche Peak at the time of the sale?  I certainly have no idea what the value was but my guess is that it was far in excess of 1.7 billion dollars.

If EFH "gave" 10 billion dollars for the purchase of Comanche Peak, shouldn't that be its value on the tax rolls?

TXU legally and fairly(?) depreciated CP to 1.7 billion dollars but its sale to EFH was for more than the depreciated value.  What is a fair taxable value for Comanche Peak, today?
