This is a presentation from last month's GRISD school board meeting discussing construction projects on all the Glen Rose schools. I thought it was very interesting, not only because there were lots of photos showing, for example, construction on the elementary school, but also because there were projections on what types of repairs or upgrades would need to be done in the future for all schools, as well as cost estimates. It's always nice to see and hear information about how our tax dollars will be used. The company presenting the slides called it Grade Alignment and Capacity Studies. One of the interesting statistics was about at what point new facilities would need to be built, or upgraded in order to house students before overcrowding would occur.Glen Rose ISD is doing, according to the presentation, very well in terms of space.

P.S. We are fortunate in the state of Texas to have the Open Meeting law which allows for recording the meetings, wished to have originals of the presentations or be able to link to them on the GRISD site, but the school board is running that through the school board attorney. So we finally have decided, while awaiting a reply on our other request, to post the video we recorded.

Related article that is actually from Cleburne's school district but I thought it was interesting because it's money being considered to spend for an indoor turf facility.
