Texas Government: Going, going gone --- to the dogs!

23 December 2007 at 10:30:34 AM

Is anyone home?

Unemployment in Texas is increasing, homeowners still are foreclosing, too many Texans [including children] can NOT afford health care insurance and the doors of public education continue to "swing on creaky hinges."

Has anyone seen Gov. Rick "39-percent" Perry?    Has anyone seen our legislators?

I have.

Perry is riding his stallion around the nation, stomping for Rudy Giuliani and himself.  They are posing as America's crusaders for the people.  Perry wants his team to win the 2008 presidential election so much he can "taste it".

But Texans need a governor now!   If Perry does NOT want to do his job, he should step-down and crusade full time without the taxpayers or special interests of Texas paying his way.

The legislators have left the building.  They have also left the mess they have created for Texans in order to be home with their families during the holidays.

So who is helping Texans during this oppressive time?   Who is resolving the urgent issues so that Texas families can enjoy Christmas also?

No one!

Merry Christmas!

That really bugs me, too. I think if someone runs for office, they ought to RUN THAT OFFICE if that person is elected, and not be running around the country on the taxpayer's dime stumping for somebody ELSE to run. The only exception I would make is the last couple of months of an election cycle, like, say, from September 1st on. Otherwise, a person really wants to be running for some OTHER office? then QUIT the one you're supposed to be running.

Well, guess we have to note who we're talking about.  Even when Perry was "there" he wasn't there for the majority of Texans [adults children and/or families].  In a sense, we're better off that he's away traveling.  But I do agree with you.  If any of us did that with our jobs, we would NOT have them any more!
