Notes from the Glen Rose Reporter (Glen Rose, Texas) Newspaper This Week - Sep 6, 2007

7 September 2007 at 10:35:17 AM

(As I've said before, I'm only a READER of the Glen Rose Reporter, our local newspaper, because I like it, not otherwise affliliated.)

Really nice picture on the front of the Glen Rose High School athletes who are letter winners

We had 2.62 inches of rain this month! Boy, I believe that. In fact, I have one of those weather houses that has a little man and a little woman, and the little man comes out if it's going to rain, and he's STILL hanging out.

I notice that Robert Summers has done a statue of The Barnards of the Brazos and that the Somervell History Foundation will be unveiling it on September 15th at 6pm (with free concert at 5pm, on the courthouse square.) Look at the link above to see what the statue will look like- will be lifesize. Summers lives in Glen Rose.

Paluxy Pedal Bike Ride Ad for Saturday, Oct 13. Heck, maybe I'll haul the bike out and ride that, it ought to be gorgeous that weekend.

Obits in the paper- Jannie Ruth Gatewood of Cleburne, Georgia Watters of Rainbow,
