Devon Energy *Donates* Money for Repairs to Johnson County, Texas

In a way, frankly, that's a little insulting and silly, although it's good Johnson County got some money to repair the county roads that Devon Energy has damaged. But that's exactly the point of why something like this, in my opinion, ought not to be a donation but a requirement. Why allow Devon Energy to look like they're good guys going out of their way to donate some money that they can probably take off their taxes? They ought to be liable for repairs and BILLABLE for them.

But I guess Judge Harmon will take what he can get any way it comes.

P.S. I see this morning they did the same thing in Parker County. The ostensible reason is flood relief for roads torn up during the bad weather we had. Oh, and also the roads torn up due to their trucks. No one can, I think, quibble with a generous donation for flood relief but when it's A. mixed in with money to repair roads from their own company's damage and B. It's a voluntary help instead of being required, one could say that that their motives are not entirely pure.
