Bosque County (TX) Got Taken Off the Presidential Proclamation of Disaster Areas-And Didn't Tell the County Why

From the Clifton Record.

County Judge Cole Word reported he had just learned Monday morning that Bosque County has been taken off the Presidential Proclamation declaring certain counties in Texas to be disaster areas.

The six counties left on the proclamation’s list will only be able to request federal individual assistance, not public assistance for federal funding of infrastructure projects.

Word said that the county needed the disaster help and that federal funding would have been "a key part of rebuilding our road infrastructure."

"We are the only county to be taken off the list," said Word, "and I want to know who took us off the list — and why."

Harbison estimated that road repairs and the damages from flooding in the county will be around $5 million.

Word added that maybe it is time for the citizens to get involved in trying to contact members of the state or federal government to find out why Bosque County has taken from the list of counties to receive federal disaster funding.
