Perry AGAIN Shows that Lining His Pocketbook To Shore Up Future Ambitions Is More Important than Texans

There's no doubt in my mind but that 39 percent is trying to shore up his *street cred* in the world (screw Texas) by going to events sponsored by Neo-Cons. I don't know which butts he's trying to kiss, but if anyone forgets what he did to Texas and actually votes him in some position of authority in the future, those people deserve what they get.. which will be, for one, a choice of either rotting highways or expensive toll road robbery rides. One thing about this article, which shows him again going to a foreign country to shmooze with power, is that he again hasn't met any private trips whose money he won't accept in his own interest.

Gov. Rick Perry and his wife, Anita, embarked Friday on a seven-day Middle East trip paid for by an international firm with a focus on building business ties between the United States and Israel.

Perry said it's an opportunity to showcase a "special kinship" between Texas and Israel. Some questioned the trip financed with private dollars.

The Perrys will visit Jordan and Israel, where the GOP governor will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, former prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu, and new President Shimon Peres.

He also will meet Eli Opper, Israel's chief scientist, representatives of Israeli science and industry, and there will be time for sightseeing, according to his office.

The entity paying for the trip, Global Capital Associates, will host a gala where Perry will receive the "Friend of Zion" award, described on its Web site as "our opportunity to say thank you to leaders who have played key roles in promoting the close alliance between America and the Jewish state."
