plan to stay on through Friday so that they can vote to approve a plan about the TYC.

News of the planned resignations came as a special legislative panel continued to examine operations of the state agency that houses 4,700 young offenders at more than two dozen facilities statewide. When the resignations were announced by state Sen. Chris Harris, the Arlington Republican spearheading the drive to fire the board, applause erupted from lawmakers and onlookers.

But Harris and other lawmakers were dissatisfied with the timing, because the board plans to meet one last time to approve a plan still being tweaked to overhaul the youth commission.

"I don't know how the Legislature could have expressed itself more clearly," Harris said. "This board needs to go right now."

Are they going to bar the door and prevent these arrogant Perry stooges from showing up? Unbelievable that, after all this mess, they just won't go... now... quietly.
