On January 21st I received a phone call from my younger brother. He told me that his Army Reserve unit will be heading to a base here in the US to do some training on the 3rd of Feb. After 4 weeks of training they are off to Iraq for one year of duty. I took the past week off to spend some time with him in his home state where he lives and works as a homicide detective. He has a loving wife and two well behaved boys aged 11 & 9...he is going to miss their birthdays for the first time. My brother is a selfless hero who does what he believes is good for both his local community and for his country. He is an example of what is good and right with our country; and someone I am extremely proud to call my brother! He does not want to be in Iraq in harms way but it is not his choice, he is following his orders as any soldier would. I know nothing we can do at this point will stop my brother and his unit from going into harms way but I do want everyone to do everything in their power to end this occupation of Iraq as soon as possible so they can return home to their families where they belong! I will be personally contacting all my congressman daily until the occupation in Iraq is over and our troops are brought home!
Stop funding the occupation of Iraq NOW!
