On Blogging Your Views on the Somervell County Salon blog

I see that the County Chair has posted about voting in this election, and this looks like a good time to mention that if you are a Democrat or progressive and either from Somervell County or from one of the political districts that include Somervell County, and you\'d like to join in writing commentary about local events of interest, email me at salon .... at.... glenrose.net. I expect if you\'re a regular reader, you know that I have some particular interests and there\'s been a lot of political commentary on the runup to the elections (and I\'ve had a LOT to say).

What political districts are we in?

  • US House District 17- Chet Edwards
  • Texas Senate  District 22 - Kip Averitt
  • Texas House District 59 - Sid Miller (hopefully soon to be Ernie Casbeer)

I also believe strongly that when I read items from other counties where we have something in common, it should be shared. Like, when other counties, such as Parker, are having gas well or water issues; we all sit on the Trinity; or when Hamilton County has questions about salt water injection wells near the Bosque. Or the Trans Texas Corridor, which, although it isn\'t going through HERE directly, affects all Texans.
