Ernie Casbeer and Sid Miller on Who Should Be Governor (Texas House District 59)

16 October 2006 at 1:55:02 PM

Sid Miller supports Perry the Crook. That should tell you all you need to know about who not to vote for.

Casbeer said Bell, a fellow Democrat, is the “most qualified to address the challenges facing Texas.”

“Chris Bell is serious about improving our public schools and will help get the state back on track after the failed leadership in Austin in recent years,” Casbeer said. “Independents and displeased Republicans should join ranks with Democrats to elect Chris Bell governor.”

Casbeer said he cannot support Perry because he is “controlled by rich campaign contributors. His leadership has failed in education, transportation, and economic development.”

“Under his (Perry’s) leadership, the Texas Legislature has deregulated insurance, utilities, telecommunications, and college tuition,” Casbeer said. “This has caused Texas to have among the highest insurance rates in the nation, highest utility rates in the nation, highest telecommunication rates in the nation, and has run the average costs of college tuition from $1,500 to $7,500 in three years.”

Let's review. Perry cut park budgets and tried to sell off state park land before he was caught at it.. Perry didn't effectively balance school budgets and has stiffed teachers (particularly retirement funds). Perry is for Trans Texas Corridor and taking people's private land for the use of a private, foreign company for use as toll road. Yes, Perry has a nice head of hair but can't we just shear his head and keep it in a museum? Good heads of hair aren't reasons to have someone that's a crook for governor. And Sid's for him? What does THAT say about Sid? Ask Sid whether he will stop Trans Texas Corridor.
