This has truly been a great month for a number of personal reasons. Sometimes things just come together in a terrific way. I'm always thinking about turning part of my garage into an arts and crafts area, and the sheer amount of stuff that has floated into my life has made that difficult. In one massive cleanup, I took some stuff that was parts we couldn't identify and left them for *someone* to look at and determine. You know what I mean. You throw something away and it turns out that it's THE vital part for an irreplaceable item. But there comes a point when, after 2 years, if I'm still not missing the whatever, maybe I can just THROW this stuff away and BUY something new. Chances are that if I haven't missed whatever in the last 2 years, I never will. On that same line, I got rid of a bunch of cardboard recently by taking it (free!!!) to the dump. I kept some small boxes for later in the year sending out food gifts; made the mistake last year of ditching ALL the cardboard boxes and then had trouble finding the right size boxes for giving people cookies, marshmallows and other food gifts.
Over this Memorial Day weekend, I'm going to make homemade fajitas, homemade tortillas, rice and beans, and gelato (I have some peaches but not sure they're ripe enough for gelato which needs to have a really strong, almost overripe flavor, so might be chocolate instead:)
Shoutout to Julia Douglas, who is not only now the head of the Planning and Zoning Committee at City of Glen Rose but also recorded, via Facebook Live, the recent City of Glen Rose special session in which the 2 new councilmembers and the mayor were sworn in.
This cracked me up. Trump has some kind of ego problem, he's like the kid that has to bully and push everyone out of the way instead of having manners.
because he DOES shove other people out of the way. WHO admires this? WHO????
As the FBI continues an investigation of Trump's top associates and as he reportedly considers a White House staff shake-up, the president's attorneys have urged him to lay off his habit of aggressive and impulsive tweeting — lest it make matters even worse for him.
So what did Trump do upon returning to his embattled White House? He went on a Twitter rant, of course.
Michael Hayden, the former director of the NSA and the CIA, told CNN on Saturday that the reported content of Jared Kushner's conversations with Russia's ambassador in December may have motivated former national security adviser Susan Rice to request his name to be unmasked in intelligence reports.
Most of the controversy surrounding Rice's reported attempts to "unmask" Trump officials has centered on former national security adviser Michael Flynn's communications with Russian officials.
Those talks would take place in Russian diplomatic facilities in the US, the Post said, creating a secure line that would essentially conceal the administration's interactions with Russian officials from US government scrutiny.
President Trump chose to ride in a golf cart while his foreign counterparts took a walk through Taormina, Sicily, on Saturday during the Group of Seven summit.
The Times of London reported the six other world leaders — from Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan — walked 700 yards to take a group photo at a piazza in a hilltop town. The U.S. leader decided to wait until he could get a golf cart.
