Update: 7/11/2016-I went to this meeting this morning and recorded it. Will be putting the video up over the next few days, including citizen comments and the commissioners court deliberations. LINK to citizen comments  LINK to Somervell County Commissioners Court deliberations.

Update #2. 7/22/2016- Won't be closed at this time.

There is a Somervell County Commissioners Court meeting coming up this Monday, July 11, 2016 at 9:30 am at the annex. Here is the agenda.

Note the following item.

5. Discuss/take action on closing the Expo Center effective the end of this fiscal year.

At the  June 27 2016 meeting the idea of possibly closing the expo was discussed. Judge Danny Chambers said

Judge -give us your opinion on expo, golf course, road barn, fire/ems and sheriff's department, then dire circumstances come, then I know what your gut is. Would still have to come out in open court, but if you think about it long term what means the most to who.

John Curtis also brought up the idea of bringing this to the city and have them participate in operating these enteprises for a short length of time.

When you are reading or listening about this, consider that the budget is based on the January 1, 2015 value of Lumimant, not January 1 2016.

A good time if you care about these issues to show up to the meeting on Monday
