Went to 18th District criminal court this morning specifically to hear about the Karen Shepard theft of property case (First National Bank). The judge issued an order and she is to come back on July 6th, 2016. Will update this in the next couple of days with what the order was.
Had not realized that this was also the day that Tasha Hatcher was due in court. Her attorney had put in a motion to get her released on PR bond. Hatcher had been evaluated by a doctor for competence. The DA brought up a Texas Ranger to testify. He said his understanding of events was that she had admitted smoking marijuana. Apparently Hatcher had first put a cat in the oven, which was on high heat. The child pleaded with her to release the cat, the cat was released, and then Hatcher tried to force the child into the oven. Because the grates/racks were in the way, the child wouldn't fit but was burned from the grates. Apparently the Ranger was not the person on scene, but came after; when he arrived, no one, according to his answer to the attorney's question, told him what had been observed. Attorney asked if anyone told the Ranger his client was naked, distraught, started masturbating and praising God? Ranger: Did say she made some religious statements. Atty: Said something was inside her, something demonic. Atty asked Ranger if he believed marijuana generall calms you down. Ranger: depends on the marijuana. There is audio and video of Hatcher's behavior. Atty then made some statements about whether the Ranger would know, not being a medical cop, if there was something wrong with Hatcher's brain, Ranger said whatever the court decides would not be up to him. Atty wanted medical doctor, EKG. Judge questioned medical doctor versus a psycniatric doctor.
The judge denied the PR bond. The judge also told her attorney to file a motion with what he specifically wanted in the way of a medical professional, along with what the costs to the county would be.

The entire situation breaks my heart>
poor helpless child was hurt and able to even defend herself . I know god has great plans for this baby and I hope for the sake of her that she is placed where she belongs.
