SNAKES! Saw a snake yesterday attempting to get in the chicken house in the morning, spent a good part of the day putting up some extra locks. Over the next few days going to get some spray insultation foam to cover ALL the holes, no matter how small, get some bird netting and possibly some snake away. Sheesh, This is besides the one hub dispatched a few weeks ago. Can't blame it for trying but I'm sure I would have a lot more chicks and ducks that hatched out if it weren't for snakes. I definitely am going to build my baby chick cages for next year out of 1/4 inch hardware cloth but don't have the heart to get any more chicks or keets this year.
