This sounds good. Missouri Attorney General urges changes to deadly force law.

Missouri’s attorney general proposed Friday it be illegal for police to use deadly force unless a fleeing suspect committed a violent felony or poses a serious threat to injure the officer, as part of recommendations responding to the fatal shooting of a black 18-year-old in Ferguson that sparked national protests.

Attorney General Chris Koster also recommended a new scholarship program to promote diversity in law enforcement, police departments be required to report data on the race of their employees and the formation of a task for to review state traffic stop data. Most of his recommendations require legislative action.

The proposals stem from panel discussions held last fall in St. Louis and Kansas City following the Aug. 9 shooting of Michael Brown by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, who is white. A grand jury declined on Nov. 24 to charge Wilson with a crime.

Democrats plan to skip Netanyhu's speech to Congress. GOOD FOR THEM. John Boehner isn't president!

Energy Future Holdings fights for control of its bankruptcy.

Top creditors of Energy Future's largest division, Texas Competitive Electric, are threatening to tear the big Dallas energy company in two in a way that could touch off $6 billion in tax liabilities. Junior creditors of the parent company say the senior Texas Competitive creditors are bluffing and that only a tax-free reorganization will pass muster.

Energy Future's bankruptcy proceeding began in April 2014 after months of negotiations with senior Texas Competitive Electric creditors, a group that includes Apollo Global Management, Oaktree Capital Management and other big distressed- debt investors. The company is still pushing toward the goal of a tax-free division of its two major collections of businesses.
