Opinions expressed here are STRICTLY my own. There may have been other things that were discussed leading up to this in some other meeting but for me, a citizen who wants to know what is going on in the budget, there were some things that aren't clarified and nobody asked about them. For example, what is the *Other*? Second, why is the 501a stuff included in the budget, what about that shortfall, did the hospital follow the procedures they are supposed to to make up the money (including making sure that any money given to them upon request has related paperwork to SHOW that they spent the money for that purpose)  or is it still, as Honea was doing it, operating as a slush fund? Third, where is the money explicitly talked about coming from Pecan Plantation, broken out in both profits and losses? Is that lumped in under the 501a? Shouldn't taxpayers who are paying for stuff in ANOTHER HOSPITAL DISTRICT that itself pays NO TAXES know exactly the moneys that are going into that? Third, at the beginning of this, Honea says they had a loss. No questions about ANY of this? If it's a case that this was discussed at some other public meeting, then ALL public meetings need to have audio and video recorded so that we can hear it.
