from the Paris News

As you can see from other posts, I've been reading the local papers (if they have one) that are holding the public meetings on the Robber Baron Land Grab the King of Spain Cintra TXDOT is hosting to explain why it's okay for them to steal our property. In this case, the Paris paper says all the elected officials are Just Fine and Dandy with the heist (well, that wasn't their words exactly) and there was only ONE person that spoke up against at the meeting (Frankly, I have to believe that it wasn't publicized enough, it's hard to believe that only ONE person against would have gone). That ONE person was activist Linda Curtis, who has been going around to the meetings to inform people (in fact, go look at the video for Weatherford, she's on, I think the 4th part and she was excellent). She brought out the quite reasonable fact that the process for TTC was rushed and people should have been given a chance to vote on it.

So what does Don Wall, transportation sec'y of Lamar County say?

Don Wall, transportation chairman of Lamar County Chamber of Commerce and director of the Northeast Texas Mobility Council, reprimanded Curtis for interjecting politics into the project.

“I do support it and I would rather see this kept out of the political arena as it has been tried to be interjected just prior to my speech,” Wall said.

It is to laugh. What the heck IS the TTC rush through that people were NOT GIVEN PUBLIC HEARINGS on before it passed, and (I think it was Linda that brought this out), although it was on the ballot that we voted on, it wasn't stated that it was TTC. In other words, an entirely political process.

One wonders if Mr. Wall owns land he plans to sell?
