Abortion Bill Initially Approved

3 July 2013 at 7:34:47 AM

No surprise here.

From the Austin Statesman:

Voting 8-3 along party lines, the House State Affairs Committee approved sweeping abortion regulations early Wednesday morning, setting up a House vote next week.

It will be interesting to see how Texans, specifically women, will react to the approved bill when it becomes law.  I am hoping that enough Texans will emerge as voters to make a big statement in the next election and/or next several elections that could finally break the stronghold of the extremist Republican Party in the State.

The party seems to be returning to the 1950's with this abortion bill.  It didn't work then and it won't work now.

Or, am I being delusional?

CNN has an article on whether Perry's 2012 debacle will affect his run in 2016.   Duh!!!  There were some interesting comments you may want to look at.  I find it very interesting how people from out-of-state view Rick Perry.  I think it would benefit Texans to consider how he's viewed and maybe the views will rub off.

The downside to the Texas story -- low high school graduation rates, poor access to health care, high poverty levels -- is rarely mentioned by Republican primary voters.

Wow, what does that say about the values of Texas Republican voters.
