*Can Perry beat Obama* Poll by the Washington Times...

There have been a number of comments (currently 4 web pages worth) posted on the Washington Times poll on "whether Perry can beat Obama."

One in particular is disturbing because it tries to validate Perry’s attempt to mandate the HPV vaccine to all young children.

There also is mention of the TTC and eminent domain.

You may want to review the site’s comments and respond. I already have provided many comments there.

If people go beyond that poll to see WHAT HE DID, they won't like Rick Perry issuing an executive order to bypass the Texas Lege to force gardasil shots on little girls FOR HIS LOBBY FRIEND Mike Toomey

Did you read some of that BS?  I couldn't let it go, it being in the Washington Times and with the gung-ho Texans for Perry.

I just checked it out. Unfortunately (I could only suffer through one page of comments), it's just more of same inflamed, irrational ranting that started back during the last presidential election. Intelligent discourse doesn't happen much in this country anymore. We refuse to engage in reasoned thinking especially if it doesn't align with our fear-based biases and knee-jerk reactions. Everybody's talking but no one is listening.

All of this babel is obsolete, of course, and doesn't work for any of us, but we still haven't figured that out yet.

I appreciate your attempts to reason with these folks, pstern. Unfortunately, I don't know many 'Republicans' like you anymore. If I did, maybe we could all actually get somewhere.

Let me just add that I think there's plenty of tiresome BS coming from the 'lefties', too.

Thanks, HB.  As we've stated quite a bit during the past few years here on Salon, the 2-Party system has failed most Americans.

The leaders and top dogs of each party live in a different world than the rest of us.  And unfortunately, most Americans are stupid.  Sorry, but I said it.  There is no moderation in any facet of our existence or respect any more.  Everything is "crash and burn" if you know what I mean.  Politics has moved to that corner of the galaxy as well.

I tried to reach some of those people on the Washington Times site and I think I helped a few, but the majority it seems were just on another planet too.  First, they don't listen or hear you.  Then, if you don't agree with them there must be something wrong with you.  I finally gave up.  It's really not worth it.  Our nation will continue to decline in all areas because no one want to act intelligently and start to deal with all the messes we've created.

BTW, HB, I'm constantly told I'm NOT a Republican by both sides of the stratosphere.  I am a middle grounded, moderate, center stage, free thinker who votes for the person and his/her history and experience and NOT the affiliated party.  Since both parties have contributed to our dimise I don't feel I owe any allegiance or loyalty to either one.

I gotta say, Rick Perry has so many negatives and comes across a real flake. He's trying to hide all that by touting his job numbers which are also baloney. He can't hide his nuttiness

Salon, I think Perry is going to do well in the southern states with his cowboy/farmer false image.  but in the Northeast, North and West he will crumble.

Americans already had a Texan in the White House recently and I don't think most of them will want another one so soon, even against Obama and his false promises.

I would love to view his expenditures, especially those overseas, for the past 5 years to show the public he had planned running for President already at that time and used Texas taxpayer dollars and special interest contributions and perks to do it all.

Yup. The man hasn't really been running Texas.  Rick Perry, to me, is the man for the guys that have, um, issues that they're attempting to compensate for. LIke he's the big red car but every women knows why he's driving it.

If you go to various blogs on news sites you will see quite a few women saying they will vote for Perry, that he is a man who can beat Obama and that he will create jobs, lower taxes and blah, blah, blah blah blah!

I just don't comprehend why ANY woman would vote for Perry.  It boggles my mind, but they ARE out there!

Tell you what I have see on Twitter. Women who do that stuff but looks like they are fake Twitter accounts with clip art of blonde women. I'm willing to bet that a sizeable number of the comments by women on blogs are also salted. A related example. Apparently The Response decided to get a bunch of fake Twitter accounts to put stuff out that made it look like it was real people saying "Come pray with me". The problem is they forgot to turn off or update the bots AFTER the Response was over. It was highly amusing. I also read recently that Newt Gingrich paid some company for a bunch of followers.  Anyway, point is that if you see people out touting stuff don't assume they aren't PR hounds hired by a campaign to try to sway public opinion.

What I'm talking about is everyday kind of people and talking about every day type of things.  They are not pushing an agenda, they are speaking about one or two issues.  It is not fake.

Look, there are people out there like Michele Bachmann who think these sort of guys walk on water.

I'm not defending them, I'm simple saying they are out there and I have read enough of this sort of stuff on Perry.

I'm sure there are some, just like Rush Limbaugh saying Rick Perry has a great head of hair:). But I also know that there are bloggers who get PAID to endorse stuff. They are MEANT to look like every day type of people so it's not obvious they are shilling.

Criminal Minds is well done, but after a while of watching shows it becomes pretty gruesome.  A  few other good shows are Burn Notice, The Closer, NCIS, Sons of Anarchy, The Mentalist and a few others.  Wipeout is hysterical if you ever get a chance to see it.  Merlin, Bones and Harry's Law are pretty good.  Curb Your Enthusiasm is insane.
