The Glen Rose Somervell County Chamber of Commerce has had its fair share of controversy. They have also had quite a bit of turn around over the last few months, although most really has nothing to do with the chamber itself. They have decided to shift their focus back to businesses, which means that the Chamber is no longer in the festival business :( I do no know what this means for the planned festivals. Perhaps they will be shifted to the CVB. Has anyone heard anything about this?

I sent this email to the Chamber on 7/15 but have not heard back, wonder if they are serious about buying local themselves or not.
If you guys are serious about buying local, I can host your web site instead of you using someone in Hood County to do it.
Would make sense to have someone in Somervell County hosting the Glen Rose Chamber web site don't you think?

I don't know but as a private organization, they can decide to spend their money as they wish. I do know that the Downtown Association did a lot of these events before, and a great job too. The CVB also has done quite a bit to work to get events here, such as the Bluegrass Festival, so looks like there's room to step up to the plate.

I'm not really in the mix but from what I've heard about the Chamber, it sounds like it has alienated other businesses on the Square simply by assuming it was the leader of all the events and by wanting to call all the shots. Am I misinformed?
