Hammonds gives money and turkeys to Somervell County Food Bank

Every Thanksgiving you can find the employees of Hammonds working hard to ensure folks have some food to eat on Thanksgiving, and they do it for FREE! During this free meal they accept donations and give these donations to the Somervell County Food Bank. Last year when Larry Higgins walked in and handed me $1451 dollars I was happily shocked! This year, today in fact, Larry walked in and handed our treasurer $2708 AND brought 20 turkeys with him. It is this quiet selfless action that is an inspiration and truly shows the spirit of community.

Thanks to Larry, his family, the staff at Hammonds, and the 350+ families that attended Hammonds on Thanksgiving Day!!

@Citizenb- I haven't tried this because I don't have a facebook account, but I added a menu at the bottom of the page that includes a LIKE button for Facebook. If you wouldn't mind, maybe you could test it and see if it does anything:-heh.

With you about Hammonds. Larry is sure a great guy. I see he's also going to be at Fossil Rim this weekend for Somervell County Free Day.
