Interesting Stats on Solar Water Use Versus Coal or Nuclear

from Texas Vox/Jim Hightower- in the comment.

Private interests now want to build four new, water-sucking power plants in our state – even though Texas already produces far more electricity than it needs. Where would they get the billions of gallons of water they’d use each year? From the Colorado River, draining it and the region’s Highland Lakes of the essential and scarce H2O that supplies millions of people in the Austin area and downstream.

See Ceres.com report

According to a report by Ceres:
-Solar consumes .0001 cubic meter of water per MWh
-Solar would consume 11,000 cubic meters of water a day to supply all US daily energy needs
-Coal uses 2 cubic meters of water per MWh
-Nuclear uses 2.5 cubic meters of water per MWh

That means that in an apples-to-apples comparison coal uses 20,000 times as much water as solar and nuclear uses 25,000 times as much as solar.
