Video- Somervell County To Do Roads in Oakdale Park? (July 2010)

One of the items mentioned during the City of Glen Rose retreat meeting by Ronald Bruce is that the Somervell County Commissioners Court have agreed to fix up the roads in Oakdale Park. ... except that it hasn't been voted on.

Who was it that Mr Bruce talked to that said he (or they) would be using county resources to do work in Oakdale? Why would the city not be putting this out for a bid instead of going through a good ole boy network?

It's especially surprising given how absolutely strict the line is drawn between the city and county resources. Later in this same meeting, an item was on the agenda from Sue Oldenburg asking for resources for the citizen's center. Except that the citizen s center is owned and staffed by the county, not the city. As Mr Stricklin points out, the county residents pay taxes for the city.

So what's the explanation for this Good-Ole-Boy behind-the-scenes attemped-but-not-voted-on yet deal for the county to do roads for the city of Glen Rose?
