*IF* Glen Rose Decides to Hire a City Administrator? THEY ALREADY VOTED ON THIS.... ????????

Just got and posted the meeting notice for the retreat that the City of Glen Rose, along with 4b, P&Z and Preservation Board are having out at the Luminant Center this Saturday morning at 9.  What the fool is this?

City Administrator, when would be able to hire?

If no on Administrator will we pass the work on to the; Mayor or divide up between

the council members; add to the City Staff?

Hold on hiring or creating any new positions till 2012

Hello! The City Council already VOTED TO HIRE A CITY ADMINISTRATOR. INTERVIEWS WERE TO TAKE PLACE and resumes had already been analyzed by a generous committee with city administrator/managerial experience.  Although one of the city council people acted unilaterally to stop the interviews, on her own, without a city council vote, are the other city council people REALLY going to stand for this? I am just completely amazed.

There is no doubt that Mayor Pam Miller has never wanted to hire a city administrator. She has no vote on council except in cases of a tie, but has always made known her opinion, which is fine. She attemped in the last go-round to actually get the decision to hire the city administrator rescinded! Because a couple of city council persons stood up to this, AT LEAST, this attempt to stop the hiring will get brought up again this Saturday. I don't know why it is brought up at all, though-when it became clear that the interviews were stopped, somebody should have said, WHOA. We voted on this already, you cannot do that on your own without a city council vote, and we're stopping the process until we get an attorney opinion. Instead, it's going to be brought up again AS IF THE CITY COUNCIL HAD NOT ALREADY DECIDED AND VOTED ON THIS and as if they need to revisit AGAIN getting a city administrator.
