Ronnie Krejci, the superintendent of the Sterling City Independent School District, said the former principal, Vicki Goebel, resigned after serving for three years.
“We hated to lose her. She had done a good job. The high school was exemplary under her leadership,” Krejci said, referring to the Texas Education Agency’s highest accountability rating.
He said Goebel took a position as assistant high school principal at the Glen Rose Independent School District, about 60 miles southwest of the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area. Glen Rose High School has a student enrollment of about 515.
