Commissioners’ Court of Somervell County met in a regular meeting at 9:30 a.m. on the above date with all Commissioners present.  County Judge Walter Maynard presided.

DISCUSSION ON AGENDA ITEMS

ITEM NO.

10. Golf Course Superintendent Jeff Hanson said he had received replacement receptacles for recharging golf carts from the vendor and would like to determine if this will solve the battery problem before any other action is taken.  See motion 14.

MOTIONS ON AGENDA ITEMS

ITEM NO.

  1. Motion was made by Commissioner Wirt and seconded by Commissioner Ford to approve the previous Commissioners’ Court minutes of April 12 and 19, and May 3, 2010. Motion carried. All voting aye.

Motion was made by Commissioner Barnard and seconded by Commissioner Cummings to correct a typographical error in item 2 and move:

2. $2,500 from Jury/Court Reporting #415-419, $1,000 from Jury/Court District Jurors #415-482 from Jury/Court Prof Svcs #415-462 $500, from Jury/Court Grand Jurors #415-481 $500, and from Jury/Court JP Jurors #415-484 $500 to Jury/Court Appt  Atty #415-485.

3. $100 from JP Bonds #413-408 to JP Dues/Subscriptions #413-400.

4. $700 from Clk Off Election Supplies #411-413 to Clk Off Premium Pay #411-140.

5. $1,000 from S/O Insurance #428-410 to S/O Prisoner Medical #428-407.

6. $100 from Constable Insurance #414-410 to Constable Printing #414-435.

7. $45, 000 from EMS Personnel Full Time to the following:

EMSPart time labor #436-105 $35,000,

EMS Rep Pts/supplies #436-350 $1,000,

EmsTelephone #436-420 $500,

EMSVendor Bldg/Gds Rep #436-450 $1,000,

EMSRadio/Pager #436-459 $1, 500,

FD Auto/Eq Rep Pts #429-352 $1,000,

FD Telephone #429-420 $500,

FD Vendor Bldg /Gds Rep #429-450 $1,000,

FD Uniforms #429-455 $1,000,

Motion carried. All voting aye.

 

8. Motion was made by Commissioner Ford and seconded by Commissioner Barnard to approve the remainder of County Bills, with the addition of $11.04 for seminar meal (#425-428) reimbursement to Josh Blanek.  Motion carried. All voting aye.

9.Motion was made by Commissioner Cummings and seconded by Commissioner Wirt to approve the County Treasurer’s report.  Motion carried. All voting aye.

10.Motion was made by Commissioner Ford and seconded by Commissioner Cummings to approve departmental reports as submitted.  Motion carried. All voting aye.

11. Motion was made by Commissioner Barnard and seconded by Commissioner Wirt to take under consideration 5 bids for Asphalt, 1 bid for Coverstone, 2 bids for Expo/Amphi Cleaning, 3 bids for Gas/Diesel/Oil and 1 bid for Hotmix/Coldlay and bring recommendations back to Court.  Motion carried. All voting aye.

12.Motion was made by Commissioner Ford and seconded by Commissioner Cummings to approve rescinding items 16 from Misc page (Sprayable Fe) on the chemical/fertilizer bid (1/11/10) from Helena and re-award to BWI. Motion carried. All voting aye.

13.Motion was made by Commissioner Wirt and seconded by Commissioner Cummings to approve rights of way for the Somervell County Water District pipeline, as presented.  Motion carried. All voting aye.

14.Motion was made by Commissioner Barnard and seconded by Commissioner Wirt to table authorizing the County Attorney to write to Yamaha in reference to Golf Carts.  Motion carried. All voting aye.

15. Motion was made by Commissioner Wirt and seconded by Commissioner Barnard to approve authorizing the County Attorney to write a letter in reference to the Georges Creek Cemetery Road, contingent on an opinion from outside attorneys on the status of the existing road.  Motion carried. All voting aye.


There being no further business, motion was made by Commissioner Ford and seconded by Commissioner Cummings to adjourn at 10:12 a.m. Motion carried.  All voting aye.
