Went driving through Oakdale Park a while ago before it got dark-Dulcimer Festival

Have to say, it was very idyllic. Lots and lots of people, campers, tents, sitting out cooking a meal or sitting with friends. It's funny, it reminds me of when we were building our house and the foundation was laid and it seemed like the house would be so very very small. We were told, don't worry, because foundations always look smaller until the framing goes up. That's what it seemed like in Oakdale-it hadn't seemed all that big before but with all the many many travelers there it got so much bigger. I liked the way all the people were parked all over the place in what seemed like random spots. I didn't see any gigantic mobile homes but a lof ot the smaller pull behind or popup tent campers-may take some pics this weekend.

Anyway, even though I was not part of the tourist bunch that was there, I did enjoy the feeling of community from the group. I imagined that all the visitors felt that they were in a charming place, surrounded by petrified wood cabins and lots of trees in a nostalgic setting.

I continue, though, not to want to see gigantic RVs, and to want to see at least some more of the park for RESIDENTS. Does the definition have to be state-of-the-art RV park or couldn't it be a city park that occasionally, for some events that warrant it, welcome smaller RVs that fit the scale of Oakdale?

Scale is the operative word, salon. Oakdale isn't a modern, large-scale RV park. I saw many pulling into Oakdale yesterday for the Dulcimer Festival. I'm so glad to hear your comments. Let's hope the city government is paying attention.
