I noticed the other day that the Google widget I was using to embed audio on the site no longer works. I found a newer widget but I may not go back very far to fix the widget in older posts. Therefore, if you see some older posts where it says Audio but you don't see any evidence of an audio, let me know and I'll fix those on a "as asked" basis.

SCOTUS lets stand a ruling that bars the Boy Scouts from leasing land from the city-because they are a religious organization.
The Supreme Court Monday decided to let stand a ruling that the Boy Scouts cannot lease city-owned park land in San Diego because the group is a religious organization.
Roger Ebert-Why I Hate 3d
I'm not opposed to 3-D as an option. I'm opposed to it as a way of life for Hollywood, where it seems to be skewing major studio output away from the kinds of films we think of as Oscar-worthy. Scorsese and Herzog make films for grown-ups. Hollywood is racing headlong toward the kiddie market. Disney recently announced it will make no more traditional films at all, focusing entirely on animation, franchises, and superheroes. I have the sense that younger Hollywood is losing the instinctive feeling for story and quality that generations of executives possessed. It's all about the marketing. Hollywood needs a projection system that is suitable for all kinds of films—every film—and is hands-down better than anything audiences have ever seen. The marketing executives are right that audiences will come to see a premium viewing experience they can't get at home. But they're betting on the wrong experience.
Speaking of the SCOTUS, you May Come In The Back Door, thank you!
Rod Hale of Glen Rose thought a time share scam was money for him.
When Rod Hale received a blue postcard in the mail from the "Awards Verification Center" announcing that "you are the official prizewinner in our NEW MERCEDES, BMW, PORSCHE or $49,000 CASH promotion," he just knew that his dream was about to come true.
Hale, of Glen Rose, gushed back in a letter to the company at the North Richland Hills address, "You quite simply cannot imagine the immensity of my thrill by having received your notification that I was an OFFICIAL PRIZEWINNER of your company's contest.
"My choice of winnings will be the $49,000 cash, which I will apply toward the completion of a nature trail I've been working on for disabled kiddos and adults."
This is not Glen Rose Texas but Glen Rose, Arkansas. Pretty amazing.
Matt Hughes is recuperating at his home in the Glen Rose community outside of Malvern after plunging 80 to 90 feet into the Gulf of Mexico to escape the April 20 blast that shook the Deepwater Horizon oil rig where he worked.
Interesting. About Times Square surveillance cameras and the car bombing.
Oh. PLEASE. Rick Perry says the BP Oil spill may be an act of God. Um. Only if God is BP!
Well, she got to the point
