TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:



PURSUANT TO THE TEXAS OPEN MEETINGS ACT, NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMISSIONERS’ COURT OF SOMERVELL COUNTY, TEXAS WILL BE HELD MONDAY THE 29TH DAY OF MARCH, 2010, AT 9:30 A.M.,IN THE COMMISSIONERS’ COURTROOM IN THE SOMERVELL COUNTY COURTHOUSE ANNEX, 107 N.E. VERNON,IN GLEN ROSE, TEXAS AT WHICH MEETING THE FOLLOWING SUBJECTS WILL BE DISCUSSED AND THE FOLLOWING MATTERS ACTED UPON:



OPEN MEETING:



CITIZEN COMMENTS: This is for citizens to comment on any subject not on the current agenda concerning county business. Members of the Court may answer direct questions, but any action must be scheduled on a future agenda.




  1. Discuss/take action accepting Fire Dept picture display in Annex.


  2. Open/Discuss Janitorial sealed bids.


  3. Discuss/take action to approve Resolution in Consolidate Polling Places for the May 8, 2010 Special Election.


  4. Discuss/take action on surplus (houses) on Hospital property



This agenda is hereby posted and the above items



will be considered by the Commissioners' Court



at 9:30 A.M., Monday, March 29, 2010.

Commissioners’ Court of Somervell County met in a special meeting at 9:30 a.m. on the above date with all Commissioners present. County Judge Walter Maynard was absent. Commissioner Wirt presided in the Judge’s absence.



CITIZENS COMMENTS:   None.



DISCUSSION ON AGENDA ITEMS




  1. The Court recessed at 9:53 a.m. to determine the Golf Course superintendent’s intended use of stone from the surplus houses on Hospital property.  The Court reconvened at 9:58 a.m.  See motion 4 below.



MOTIONS ON AGENDA ITEMS



ITEM NO.




  1. Motion was made by Commissioner Ford and seconded by Commissioner Cummings to approve accepting the Fire Department’s picture display for the Annex, with Mike Ford to handle placement.  Motion carried. All voting aye.


  2. Motion was made by Commissioner Cummings and seconded by Commissioner Barnard to take under consideration four bids for Janitorial products and bring recommendations back to Court.  Commissioner Ford recused himself because of a family connection to one of the bidders. Motion carried. Commissioners Barnard, Cummings and Wirt voting aye.


  3. Motion was made by Commissioner Barnard and seconded by Commissioner Ford to approve the Resolution to Consolidate Polling Places for the May 8, 2010 Special Election, and authorize the Judge to sign.  Motion carried. All voting aye.


  4. Motion was made by Commissioner Cummings and seconded by Commissioner Barnard to let the surplus houses on Hospital property out for bid, with the bidder to remove everything but the foundations; bids due at 5 p.m. on April 9, 2010, to be opened at 9:30 a.m. on April 12, 2010.  Motion carried. All voting aye.



There being no further business, motion was made by Commissioner Cummings and seconded by Commissioner Barnard to adjourn at 10:08 a.m. Motion carried.  All voting aye.
