Billy Huckabee and Mike Dooley are totally confused on this one, but then again the Economic Board seems to be lost too. These two are self-absorbed egotists and couldn't care less for this community. I don't know why they haven't been run out of town on rails. If this "Land of the Dinosaurs" thing is going to work economically on it's own, then why are they asking for ANY public funding or consent? It's a free country, why don't they have their own money to make this happen? Something smells rotten in this deal. Yet, amazingly, I'm sure it'll get publicly funded because those two guys are bullies, and no one has the guts to stand up to them. Come on Glen Rose, grow a pair and gives Huckabee and Dooley the boot.

Going to repost this link to some bits and pieces I was thinking about from the meetings recently.

Incidentally, been thinking about the *this brings in business*. Has anyone seen the exact figures on this? That is, if you take the loss that Somervell County subsidizes the Expo Center and Ampitheatre by and then add in the sales tax receipts for the same period, what does it equal? I am pondering how to count the 4b tax, since it essentially gets plowed back into the community for economic development but I haven't seen the figures on how much that 4b tax is. Anyway, my question is, if you count the sales tax that gets generated here and subtract what we pay out as taxpayers (and I haven't included the gofl course or the hospital) does it at least balance out?
