Commissioners’ Court of Somervell County met in a regular meeting at 9:30 a.m. on the above date with all Commissioners present.  County Judge Walter Maynard presided.

OPEN MEETING

CITIZEN COMMENTS:   Danny Chambers addressed the Court regarding the additional RV spaces being planned for the Expo Center.  He asked that the Court advise the person(s) handling requests for bookings to determine if the request is for participation or attendance.  If the booking is for attendance, he asked that these individuals be directed to the Convention and Visitors Bureau website, where he and other private businesses are listed, and where individuals have the choice and chance to book stays with private RV parks.  He said he has rented RV sites to individuals participating in Expo events in the past, and asked for consideration and cooperation from the City of Glen Rose and the County in working with local business owners and helping them stay in business. Glen Rose Mayor Pam Miller added that the buffer zone adjacent to the city’s sewer plant can be used only for temporary RV sites because of future expansion of the plant.

Sue Oldenburg invited the Court to attend the next meeting of the Glen Rose Economic Development Corporation at 6:30 p.m. on March 1, 2010 at the Town Hall.
