Every US Democratic legislator in Texas wants fair health care.. but Chet Edwards didn't sign the letter.
In a letter addressed to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats — with the exception of Rep. Chet Edwards, D-Waco — say the final bill “must not shortchange Texans by including weak, state-based health insurance exchanges.”

Chris Turner's Wife is a political consultant.
Both the Democratic trust and the Lone Star Fund spend significant amounts on political consultants, many of whom have long histories with Angle and Frost.
For instance, since 2007, the Texas Democratic Trust has paid about $200,000 to the Turner Group for political consulting. The Turner Group is Lisa Turner, who worked with Angle in Frost’s office, and who is married to Chris Turner, a former staffer for Rep. Chet Edwards, D-Texas, who is now a member of the Texas House. The Lone Star Fund made about $6,000 in cash and in-kind donations to Chris Turner’s campaign in 2008 and 2009.

This year, the agency is hoping for a 69 percent return rate on questionnaires, which could translate into big savings for taxpayers, census officials say. In 2000, the national response rate was 67 percent, and the Texas rate was 64 percent. In 1990, the national rate was 65 percent, and the Texas rate was 61 percent.

Evolution's footprints in human genome
In some cases, the researchers were able to identify a specific genetic change that is the likely focal point of natural selection. For example, a variation in a gene called protocadherin 15, which functions in sensory perception, including hearing and vision, appears to be under selection in some East Asian populations. Several other genes involved in sensory perception also appear to be under selection in Asia. In addition, the team uncovered strong evidence of selection in East Asians at a specific point within the leptin receptor gene, which is linked to blood pressure, body mass index and other important metabolic functions.
Interestingly, the researchers also localized signals to regions outside of genes, suggesting that they function not by altering gene structure per se, but by changing how certain genes are turned on and off.
Do you get sleep paralysis? I have had this, although it's lessened quite a bit as I get older.
I dunno. This reminds me of the Picture of Dorian Gray.
But the photorealistic CGI technology James Cameron perfected for Avatar could easily be used for other, even more mind-blowing purposes — like, say, bringing Humphrey Bogart back to life, or making Clint Eastwood look 35 again. "How about another Dirty Harry movie where Clint looks the way he looked in 1975?" Cameron suggests. "Or a James Bond movie where Sean Connery looks the way he did in Doctor No? How cool would that be?"'
